Cabinets.
Kitchen cabinets can collect dirt and grime over time, especially from settled cooking grease. Take a specific cabinet cream and wipe down the cabinets to cut through all the muck. Be sure to get inside them, as well, to rid them of any moisture or buildup that has accumulated.
Countertops.
If you have granite countertops, seal them as soon as possible. When beads of water collect in small pools on the counter, you know they’re sealed. Once this is done, you can just wipe them clean as usual after meals.
Wood floors.
Mopping your wood floors every week can damage them. Instead, you should only wet-clean them once every one to two months and spot clean as needed, explains House Beautiful. Be sure you use saucers on indoor plants to prevent seepage into your floors.
Oven.
If your oven is smoking when you turn it on, it’s time to get rid of the built-up gunk and grime. Spritz burnt-on food with ammonia and sprinkle some baking soda and some white vinegar on the bottom of your oven and whisk it away once it bubbles up.
Carpet.
High-traffic areas should be cleaned whenever they start to look dirty. However, less busy areas of your home only need to be professionally cleaned once or twice a year, and a few more times for bedrooms. This should save you some unnecessary time and cleaning energy!
Washing machine.
There’s no point in washing clothes in a dirty machine. Run the hot water cycle and add in white vinegar and baking soda and let it sit for about an hour. Once the cycle has run, wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
